Example: 12 × 10 × 8 ft room
The four walls total 352 sq ft. Add a 120 sq ft ceiling, subtract 40 sq ft of openings, and the board area is 432 sq ft. With 10% waste and 4×8 panels, the calculation rounds the purchase quantity up to whole sheets.
What the result does not assume
- •Fastener spacing, board orientation, finishing level, fire or moisture assemblies and local code can change the supporting-material quantities. Treat the optional rates as editable worksheet assumptions.
