The calculation, without hidden assumptions

The Pythagorean theorem is simple, but a useful tool should do more than print √(a²+b²). What the result does not assume

  • This tool assumes a right triangle. Three arbitrary side lengths belong in the general Triangle Calculator.
  • When solving a leg, the hypotenuse must be larger than the known leg or no real right-triangle solution exists.
