Slope is one relationship expressed in several languages: rise/run, decimal slope, percent grade and angle. Showing them together prevents a common mistake—treating a 10% grade as a 10° angle—and makes the tool useful for drawings, ramps, drainage and general geometry.

Is 10% slope equal to 10 degrees?+

No. A 10% grade corresponds to arctan(0.10), about 5.71°.

Can slope be negative?+

Yes. A negative rise produces a negative grade and angle, representing a descending direction.

What is rise over run?+

It is the vertical change divided by the horizontal change.
