The calculation, without hidden assumptions

Pond liner must travel down one side, across the bottom and up the other before edge anchoring is considered. The familiar length + 2×depth rule is therefore only the start; this tool also adds explicit perimeter overlap and translates the resulting sheet into area and roll-lane planning.
