Sand Calculator — Volume, Weight & Bags

Estimate sand volume, mass and bags from length, width, depth, density and bag size with an optional waste allowance.

Result

600 m³

6,120 kg adjusted mass

6120 bag(s) at 1 kg; waste 2%.

Formula and worked example

Volume = length × width × depth; adjusted mass = volume × density × (1 + waste%).

A 4 m × 3 m area at 0.05 m depth contains 0.6 m³ before waste.

Assumptions

  • Density is entered by the user rather than inferred from a sand label.
  • Dimensions are converted to a consistent volume basis before mass is calculated.
