When average bitrate and duration are known, file size is a straightforward time × data-rate calculation. MAXScanner keeps video and audio bitrates separate, adds them only for the transport total and reports both decimal and binary storage units so upload limits and disk figures do not get mixed accidentally.

The combined rate is 5,192 kbps. Over 600 seconds that is about 389.4 MB in decimal units before container overhead.

What the result does not assume

  • Variable bitrate encodes may average above or below a nominal setting, and container/metadata overhead is not included.
  • Do not confuse kbps (kilobits per second) with kB/s (kilobytes per second); the calculation explicitly converts bits to bytes.

Why are MB and MiB both shown?+

They use different byte bases. Showing both avoids a hidden 1000-vs-1024 conversion.

Does resolution matter directly?+

Not in the file-size equation once average bitrate is known, though resolution strongly affects what bitrate may look acceptable.
