The calculation, without hidden assumptions

Frequency and period are reciprocal descriptions of the same repeating event. Frequency counts cycles per second, while period measures the time for one cycle. This calculator keeps both directions on one canonical page, converts the entered unit to SI before applying 1/x, then returns practical secondary units so a 20 kHz switching signal is readable in microseconds instead of a long decimal in seconds.

For a repeating event with one defined cycle period, yes: f = 1/T and T = 1/f.

What is the period of 60 Hz?+

1 ÷ 60 second is about 0.01667 s, or 16.67 ms per cycle.
