Example: 12 × 15 ft bedroom
A 12 × 15 room is 180 sq ft, or 20 sq yd. With 10% waste the planning area becomes 198 sq ft, which is 22 sq yd before any roll-width or pattern-layout adjustment.
What the result does not assume
- •Broadloom roll width, seam placement, pile direction and pattern matching can make the installed purchase quantity larger than a simple area estimate.
- •This page estimates area and optional material cost; underlay, transitions, installation and removal are separate.
