Resize Image to 800×400 Pixels
Resize a hand-written declaration to exactly 800×400 pixels (10 × 5 cm at 200 DPI) for SBI forms: JPG between 50 and 100 KB, text kept readable.
800 × 400 pixels in short
800 × 400 pixels is the hand-written declaration size in the SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) notice: a 2:1 image of 320,000 pixels, described as 10 cm × 5 cm at 200 DPI, saved as jpg or jpeg between 50 and 100 KB. You copy a fixed English sentence by hand, in black ink, and not in capital letters.
It is the largest of the four SBI images, yet it can still miss its floor: our photo of a written page gave 44.1 KB with Crop to fill, under the 50 KB minimum, while the kit's SBI preset saved it at 67.4 KB and passed. Handwriting on plain paper compresses very well, which is why the file comes out small.
Where an 800 × 400 declaration is asked for
SBI Junior Associates (Clerk) application
Annexure II prints the exact wording: your name, your date of birth, a statement that the information in the form is correct, true and valid, a promise to present the documents when required, and that the signature, photograph and thumb impression are yours. Write it in English on white paper with black ink, then upload it at 800 × 400 pixels, 50 to 100 KB.
Who may write it
The notice says the signature, thumb impression and hand-written declaration must be the applicant's own and not by any other person. A typed declaration, or one written by a relative, does not meet it.
Why 800 × 400
10 cm × 5 cm at 200 DPI is exactly 787 × 394 pixels; SBI rounds it up to 800 × 400 (10.16 × 5.08 cm). Four or five lines of writing in 400 pixels of height leave roughly 80 pixels per line.
The SBI declaration rule, line by line
What the notice asks for, and the part of each rule that a resize can or cannot fix.
| Rule | What the SBI notice says | Can resizing fix it? |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel size | 800 × 400 pixels in 200 DPI (preferred) | Yes: this page makes exactly 800 × 400 |
| Physical size | 10 cm × 5 cm (width × height) | Yes: 800 × 400 is 10.16 × 5.08 cm at 200 DPI |
| File size | 50 to 100 KB | Partly: a plain resize gave 44.1 KB; the kit reached the range |
| Language and ink | In English, clearly, on white paper with black ink | No: write it again if it is not |
| Letters | A declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall not be accepted | No: write it in your normal hand |
| Writer | The applicant only, not any other person | No |

How to make an 800 × 400 declaration image
Copy the text from the notice
Write the declaration from Annexure II in English, in your normal joined or print hand (not capital letters), with a black pen on plain white paper turned sideways. Fill your name and date of birth in the blanks.
Keep the block wide, not tall
Use the full width of the page and four or five lines. A 2:1 frame suits a wide block; a narrow column of text has to shrink a lot to fit 400 pixels of height.
Photograph the page flat
Shoot in daylight from straight above. A landscape phone photo is 4:3, and Crop to fill keeps 67% of its height (4032 × 2016 from 4032 × 3024), so leave space above and below the writing.
Check that every word is readable
Look at the preview at full size before you download. If the last line or your name sits outside the frame, drag the crop or switch to Fit inside, pad.
Compare the KB with the range
Under 50 KB, use the kit's SBI preset with the same photo; it saves at the highest quality that stays under 100 KB.
What we got from real files
A generated photo of a five-line hand-written page (not a customer file), run through this page and the kit's SBI preset in headless Chromium at 390 × 844 on 4 November 2026. Each result was ready 0.30 to 0.39 seconds after the click.
| Input | Setting | Output | What to notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Declaration on white paper, landscape phone photo, 4032 × 3024, JPG, 573.0 KB | This page: Crop to fill, JPG | 800 × 400, 44.1 KB | All five lines kept; the file is under the 50 KB minimum. |
| The same photo | This page: Fit inside, pad (blurred edges), JPG | 800 × 400, 33.8 KB | The page shrinks to 533 × 400 in the middle, so the writing is smaller and the file lighter. |
| The same photo | Kit, SBI preset | 800 × 400, 67.4 KB | Inside 50 to 100 KB and the text stays sharp. |
When this page is not the right tool
- The 50 KB minimum. Plain handwriting compresses so well that an exact 800 × 400 JPG can land below it. The kit's SBI preset reaches the range.
- Wrong letters or language. A declaration in capital letters, in another language or typed instead of hand-written does not meet the notice, and resizing cannot change that.
- A page photographed at an angle. Slanted lines stay slanted. Straighten the photo first, or photograph the page again from directly above.
- Other forms. We have checked this size against SBI only. Other recruiters that ask for a declaration may print their own size and wording.
Frequently asked questions
What does "800 x 400 pixels in 200 DPI" mean?
The image should be 800 pixels wide and 400 pixels tall. At 200 dots per inch that is 10.16 × 5.08 cm, which SBI rounds to 10 cm × 5 cm. You upload the pixels; the DPI figure only explains the paper size.
What is the declaration size in KB?
50 to 100 KB in the SBI notice. Our test page came out at 44.1 KB with a plain resize and 67.4 KB through the kit.
Can I write the declaration in capital letters?
No. SBI says a signature or hand-written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall not be accepted.
Can I write it in Hindi or another language?
The SBI notice asks for the declaration in English. Use the English text printed in Annexure II.
What exactly do I write?
Copy the wording printed in Annexure II of your notice, filling in your name and date of birth. It ends by confirming that the signature, photograph and left thumb impression are yours.
Does the image leave my phone?
No. The resize runs in your browser and the file is not sent to MAXScanner.
