Resize Image to 200×230 Pixels
Resize a photo to exactly 200×230 pixels (200*230) for IBPS and SBI forms: JPG between 20 and 50 KB, cropped from a phone photo without stretching.
200 × 230 pixels in short
200 × 230 means 200 pixels wide and 230 pixels tall: a portrait photo of 46,000 pixels, a little squarer than a passport print (20:23, or 0.87 wide for every 1 tall). IBPS and SBI both name it as the preferred photo size, as a JPG of 20 to 50 KB.
The pixels are easy; the KB range is where photos fail. A 200 × 230 JPG made from a phone photo came out at 5.2 KB on this page, far below the 20 KB minimum, because 46,000 pixels carry little data. Use this page when you only need the exact size. For the KB range, the kit's IBPS preset saved the same photo at 21.5 KB and passed.
Where a 200 × 230 photo is asked for
IBPS online applications
The IBPS scanning guidelines ask for a photograph of 200 × 230 pixels (preferred) in JPG or JPEG, between 20 and 50 KB, together with a 140 × 60 signature. "Preferred" is the notice's own word; a file of exactly 200 × 230 matches it in every reading.
SBI Junior Associates (Clerk)
SBI's notice repeats 200 × 230 pixels (preferred) and 20 to 50 KB, asks for a recent colour passport-style photo against a light, preferably white background, and also captures a live photo by webcam or phone while you apply. It advises keeping about 8 copies of the uploaded photo for later stages.
The "4.5 cm x 3.5 cm" heading
The same SBI annexure heads the photo section "(4.5 cm x 3.5 cm)", a passport print whose shape is 7:9 (0.78). 200 × 230 is 0.87, so a 3.5 × 4.5 cm print scanned edge to edge loses about 10% of its height on the way to 200 × 230. The pixel size is what the file is measured in, so keep it.
IBPS and SBI photo rules
Both notices give the same photo numbers. They differ in what else they ask you to upload.
| Form | Photo size | File size | Format | Other images in the same form |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IBPS | 200 × 230 px (preferred) | 20 to 50 KB | JPG / JPEG | Signature 140 × 60 px, 10 to 20 KB |
| SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) | 200 × 230 px (preferred) | 20 to 50 KB | JPG / JPEG | Live photo; signature 140 × 60 px; left thumb 240 × 240 px; declaration 800 × 400 px |
| At 200 DPI | 2.54 × 2.92 cm | — | — | Not the same shape as a 3.5 × 4.5 cm print |

How to make a 200 × 230 photo for IBPS or SBI
Stand in front of a plain light wall
Face the camera about an arm's length away, with light falling on your face from the front. SBI rules out caps, hats and dark glasses; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.
Upload the photo here
A phone held upright takes 3:4 photos. 200 × 230 is slightly wider in shape, so Crop to fill keeps the full width and 86% of the height (3024 × 3478 from a 3024 × 4032 photo).
Place your head in the frame
Drag the preview until the top of your head is just below the top edge and both shoulders are inside. If your face fills half of the frame, it is about 115 pixels tall in the final file.
Download and read the KB size
The results panel shows the size. If it is under 20 KB, open the kit's IBPS preset with the same photo: it saves at the highest quality that fits under 50 KB and, only if that is still too small, adds disclosed padding to reach the minimum.
Keep the original and the JPG together
SBI suggests keeping copies of the uploaded photo for later stages of the selection. Save the 200 × 230 JPG next to the original photo so you can make it again for the next notice.
What we got from real files
Two generated test photos (not customer files), run through this page and the kit's IBPS preset in headless Chromium at 390 × 844 on 4 November 2026. Every file was ready 0.12 to 0.30 seconds after the click.

When this page is not the right tool
- A minimum file size. This page never adds bytes; its 200 × 230 JPGs were 5.2 KB and 6.8 KB in our tests. For the 20–50 KB range of IBPS and SBI, use the kit's preset.
- The live photo. SBI also takes a photo through your webcam or phone during the application. No file is involved there, so light and background at that moment matter more than any resize.
- A busy background. Resizing keeps whatever is behind you. Remove or lighten the background first, then come back to resize.
- A small scan. A photo smaller than 200 × 230 has to be enlarged and turns soft. Rescan the print at 200 DPI or more, as the SBI notice suggests, or take a new photo.
Frequently asked questions
Is 200*230 the same as 200 × 230 pixels?
200*230, 200x230, 200 × 230 and "200 by 230" all mean 200 pixels wide and 230 pixels tall. Width comes first; 230 × 200 would be a landscape picture, which no photo field expects.
What is the IBPS photo size in KB?
Between 20 and 50 KB, in JPG or JPEG, at 200 × 230 pixels (preferred). SBI's Junior Associates notice gives the same numbers.
Why is my 200 × 230 photo under 20 KB?
46,000 pixels hold very little data. Uncompressed they are 134.8 KB, and this page's JPEG compression shrank our test photos to 5.2 KB and 6.8 KB. The kit raises the JPEG quality first and adds padding only when even the best quality stays under the minimum.
Is 200 × 230 pixels the same as 3.5 × 4.5 cm?
No. At 200 DPI, 200 × 230 pixels prints at 2.54 × 2.92 cm, and its shape (0.87) is wider than a 3.5 × 4.5 cm print (0.78). Follow the pixel size for the upload.
Can I use the same photo for IBPS and SBI?
Today both notices ask for 200 × 230 pixels and the same KB range, so one file works for both. Check each notice for its background and recency wording before reusing a photo from an older application.
Is my photo uploaded to MAXScanner?
No. The resize runs in your browser, and the photo stays on your device until you upload it to the exam portal yourself.
