Resize Image to 140×60 Pixels

Resize a signature to exactly 140×60 pixels (140*60) for IBPS and SBI forms: JPG between 10 and 20 KB, with the ink still readable at this small size.

140 × 60 pixels in short

140 × 60 means 140 pixels wide and 60 pixels tall, a 7:3 strip of only 8,400 pixels. IBPS and SBI name it as the preferred signature size, saved as JPG between 10 and 20 KB.

Those two numbers pull against each other. A 140 × 60 JPG holds very little: this page produced 2.4 KB, and even at full JPEG quality the kit's file was 5.3 KB. To reach the 10 KB floor, the kit's IBPS preset added 5.2 KB of blank JPG comment data, which image viewers skip; the signature pixels did not change, and the result screen says so.

Where a 140 × 60 signature is asked for

IBPS online applications

The IBPS guidelines ask for the signature at 140 × 60 pixels (preferred), JPG or JPEG, between 10 and 20 KB. The photo in the same form is 200 × 230 pixels.

SBI Junior Associates (Clerk)

SBI wants the signature on white paper in black ink, at 140 × 60 pixels (preferred) and 10 to 20 KB. It does not accept a signature in CAPITAL LETTERS, and if the signature you put on the attendance sheet at the exam does not match the uploaded one, the candidate is disqualified.

Signature rules at a glance

IBPS and SBI share one signature size. SSC CGL uses the same KB band with a different shape, which is why files get mixed up.

How to make a 140 × 60 signature that stays readable

  1. Sign with a firm black line

Use a black ball-point or gel pen on white paper and sign at your normal size. At 140 pixels wide, thin or light strokes turn grey and break up; a firm line survives the shrink.

  2. Photograph it flat, in daylight

Hold the phone straight above the paper, without the flash, so the page is evenly lit and the signature takes up most of the photo.

  3. Upload and keep "Crop to fill"

    From a 4:3 photo, a 7:3 strip keeps 57% of the height (1600 × 686 of a 1600 × 1200 picture). Drag the band until every stroke is inside.

  4. Read the size before you download

Expect a file of a few KB here (2.4 KB in our test). Anything under 10 KB is below the IBPS and SBI minimum, so a portal that checks the range will refuse it.

  5. Use the kit to reach the minimum

Open the kit's IBPS preset with the same photo. It whitens the paper, trims to the ink, saves at the highest quality, and only then pads the file to the floor, telling you how many bytes it added.

What we got from real files

A generated photo of a signature (not a customer file), run through this page and the kit's IBPS preset in headless Chromium at 390 × 844 on 4 November 2026. Each result was ready 0.15 to 0.44 seconds after the click.

When this page is not the right tool

  • The 10 KB minimum. This page only resizes and compresses, so its 140 × 60 files stay far below the floor. The kit's IBPS or SBI preset is the one that reaches it.
  • A signature in capital letters. SBI does not accept one, and no resize can change how you signed. Sign again in your usual running hand.
  • A faint or pencil signature. At this size, grey strokes nearly vanish. Sign again in black ink rather than trying to sharpen the photo.
  • A different notice. SSC CGL asks for about 6.0 × 2.0 cm (236 × 79 pixels in our preset) with the same KB band. Use the kit's SSC CGL preset there instead of this size.

Frequently asked questions

Is the signature 140*60 or 60*140?

140 × 60, written 140*60 or 140x60, is 140 pixels wide and 60 pixels tall, a wide strip. 60 × 140 would stand upright, which does not fit a signature box.

What is the IBPS signature size in KB?

10 to 20 KB, in JPG or JPEG, at 140 × 60 pixels (preferred). SBI's notice uses the same numbers.

Is the padding added by the kit allowed?

It is a standard JPEG comment segment that image viewers and decoders ignore, so the picture is byte-for-byte the same and the file is simply larger. The result screen states how much was added, so you can decide; the notices we read do not mention padding either way.

Why does my 140 × 60 signature look blurry?

The whole signature has 60 pixels of height, so each letter gets only a small share of them. That looks soft on a big screen even when the file is correct. Firm black strokes and a crop that leaves little empty paper make the most of those pixels.

Can my signature be in capital letters?

Not for SBI: its notice says a signature or hand-written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall not be accepted. Sign the way you will sign at the exam, because SBI compares the two.

Does the signature leave my device?

No. Resizing runs in your browser and the image is not sent to MAXScanner.
