SBI Clerk Photo, Signature, Thumb and Declaration Resize
SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) asks for four JPG files: a 200 × 230 pixel photo of 20–50 KB, a 140 × 60 pixel signature of 10–20 KB, a 240 × 240 pixel left thumb impression of 20–50 KB and an 800 × 400 pixel hand-written declaration of 50–100 KB. The kit makes all four from phone photos, checks both ends of each KB range and puts them in one ZIP.

SBI Clerk uploads in short
- Four files, all JPG/JPEG. The notice calls the pixel sizes “preferred” and gives each file a KB range with a floor and a ceiling (Annexure II).
- The 140 × 60 signature is the file most likely to be too small: ours was 5.3 KB at the highest JPG quality against a 10 KB minimum.
- A live photo is captured in the form as well (webcam, or a QR code that opens the camera on your phone), on top of the uploaded photo.
- A signature or declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS is not accepted, and the signature must match the one you sign at the exam.
- Applications for the 2026 notice (CRPD/CR/2026-27/17) ran from 11 to 31 August 2026.
What SBI Clerk asks for
Photo: 200 × 230 pixels, 20–50 KB
A recent passport-style colour photo against a light, preferably white, background. Look straight at the camera; caps, hats and dark glasses are not accepted, and religious headwear is fine as long as it does not cover the face. The notice suggests keeping about eight prints of the same photo for later stages.
Two hundred by 230 pixels is small, so a smooth photo can fall under 20 KB even at the highest quality. Our phone portrait reached 19.1 KB and was padded to 20.5 KB.
Signature: 140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB
Sign on white paper with a black ink pen. Annexure II warns that if the signature on the attendance sheet or call letter does not match the uploaded one, the candidate is disqualified, so sign the way you will sign at the exam, in running hand, not in capitals.
Left thumb impression: 240 × 240 pixels, 20–50 KB
Press your left thumb on white paper with black or blue ink. The notice gives 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI, which is 3 × 3 cm. If you do not have a left thumb, use your right thumb. The kit treats the impression like ink on paper: it whitens the background, trims the margin and centres the print in the square without stretching it.
Hand-written declaration: 800 × 400 pixels, 50–100 KB
Write the declaration in English, clearly, in black ink on white paper; capital letters are not accepted. The size is 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI, or 10 × 5 cm. The text from the notice is: “I, ______ (Name of the candidate), Date of Birth ______, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine.”
This is the largest of the four files. Our photographed declaration came out at 94.0 KB, close to the 100 KB ceiling, because six lines of handwriting carry much more detail than a signature.

How to prepare the SBI Clerk files
1. Write the declaration first
Copy the declaration text by hand in your normal running writing, in black ink, inside an area about 10 cm wide and 5 cm high. That is the 2 : 1 shape of 800 × 400 pixels, so little paper is trimmed away.
2. Sign and press your thumb on separate parts of a white sheet
Sign with a black pen in your everyday signature. Ink your left thumb lightly and press it once, firmly, away from the signature, so each item can be photographed close up on its own.
3. Take the photo against a light wall
Face the camera in daylight with a light background. Keep caps and dark glasses off.
4. Add the four files to the kit
Use the crop slider for the photo. Keep clean-up and trimming on for the signature, thumb and declaration.
5. Read every check and download the ZIP
Each file shows its pixel size, its KB size and a pass or fail line. The ZIP holds sbi-clerk-photo-200x230.jpg, sbi-clerk-signature-140x60.jpg, sbi-clerk-thumb-240x240.jpg and sbi-clerk-declaration-800x400.jpg.
6. Print the photo you uploaded
Keep the ZIP, and print copies of the same photo; the notice asks you to keep about eight for later stages of the selection.
What we got from real files
| File | What we added | Result | Size | Time | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | Phone portrait photo: 3024 × 4032 px, 540.2 KB | 200 × 230 px | 20.5 KB | 0.34 s | Made, padded from 19.1 KB, passes |
| Photo | Prepared JPG that is too small: 200 × 230 px, 2.1 KB | 200 × 230 px | 20.5 KB | 0.07 s | Made, padded from 9.9 KB, passes |
| Photo | JPG someone had already prepared: 200 × 230 px, 31.9 KB | 200 × 230 px | 31.9 KB | 0.09 s | Already passed, kept unchanged |
| Signature | Signature photographed on grey paper: 1600 × 1200 px, 85.1 KB | 140 × 60 px | 10.5 KB | 0.13 s | Made, padded from 5.3 KB, passes |
| Left thumb impression | Thumb impression photographed on paper: 1200 × 1200 px, 157.0 KB | 240 × 240 px | 30.6 KB | 0.27 s | Made, passes |
| Handwritten declaration | Declaration photographed on paper: 2000 × 1200 px, 223.5 KB | 800 × 400 px | 94.0 KB | 0.29 s | Made, passes |
Three of the six files needed something beyond resizing. The phone portrait and the signature were under their floors at full quality and were padded with blank JPG comment data. A 200 × 230 photo that someone had saved at only 2.1 KB was re-encoded at the highest quality, which reached 9.9 KB, and then padded to 20.5 KB; more than half of that file is padding, so a better source photo is the cleaner fix. The 31.9 KB photo that already met every rule was kept unchanged.
When this page is not the right tool
- You are applying through IBPS. Our IBPS entry uses the same preferred photo and signature sizes, but we could not reach ibps.in on 4 November 2026 to confirm the current thumb and declaration rules; use the all-exams kit and check your IBPS notice.
- You are applying for SBI PO or another SBI post. Each advertisement has its own Annexure; compare it with these four rules before using this preset.
- Your thumb impression is a smudge. Resizing cannot bring back ridges; press again with less ink on a hard surface.
Frequently asked questions
What is the SBI Clerk photo and signature size?
Photo: 200 × 230 pixels, 20–50 KB. Signature: 140 × 60 pixels, 10–20 KB. Both JPG/JPEG, from Annexure II of the 2026 notice.
What is the size of the left thumb impression for SBI Clerk?
240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 × 3 cm), 20–50 KB, JPG/JPEG, in black or blue ink on white paper. Use the right thumb if you have no left thumb.
What do I write in the SBI Clerk hand-written declaration?
“I, ______ (Name of the candidate), Date of Birth ______, hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left thumb impression is of mine.” Write it in English, in your own hand, in black ink.
Can I write the declaration in capital letters or in Hindi?
No to capitals: the notice says a signature or declaration in capital letters will not be accepted. It also says to write the declaration in English.
Why does my 140 × 60 signature show under 10 KB?
At 140 × 60 pixels there are only 8,400 pixels, and a signature on white paper compresses very well; ours was 5.3 KB at the highest quality. The kit pads the JPG with blank comment data to 10.5 KB without changing the picture, and tells you it did.
Do I upload a photo if the form also takes a live photo?
Yes, both. The notice asks for the scanned photo of 200 × 230 pixels and, in addition, a live photo captured through your webcam or phone inside the form.
